Abstract

The childhood of Tudor Arghezi was sorrowful and laden with scarcity, having a stepfather. He stayed in a monastery and began supporting himself at the age of 17.

His poetical debut occurred late in life. He published in almost all publications of that time and he edited reviews himself, as was the case for “Parrot Tickets”.

He renewed the Romanian lyric poetry, writing in a manner that was different from that of other poets.

Of great importance in his creation was his wife Paraschiva and their home in Mărţişor, which was a wondrous place.
