Abstract
One of the important Romanian writers, Ioan Slavici, has had an agitated existence,
meeting interesting people and places, living experiences that have been the seed of a vast work
and a cornerstone of Romanian literature. As such, Ioan Slavici not only has been a novelist, as he
is renowned, but also a memorialist, a playwright and a journalist. Moreover, an unknown side of
Slavici is his teaching activity, crowned with success, especially during his 14 years spent as the
superintendent of the “Ioan Ottetelesanu” College, in the town of Măgurele.
