ASSERTION OF ROMANIAN CREATIVITY

Abstract
The article proposes a diachronic and multidimensional presentation of the Romanian
Francophilie, a social and cultural phenomenon with a long tradition and of great complexity,
which thoroughly influenced the pattern of Romanian spirituality. The analysis highlights the
specificity of the Romanian Francophilie and Francophonye, as grafted onto the Romanian
people’s Latinity and based on numerous elective affinities, which grant its great diversity of
expression and endurance to the passing of time. The article also shows that the Romanian-French
cultural relations have acquired the character of genuine exchanges –be they non-equivalent ones:
original contributions by Romanian authors have penetrated the great French culture, which has
thus become, thanks to the Francophonye, a space for free innovative thinking and a path towards
universality.
