Abstract
First, the literary work defines the term “folklore”, its appearance and the literary species
that inspired our great writers. The literary folklore is presented by what it has the most important,
emphasizing its sincretic character.
As there is a literature for children, there must be a folklore for them too, born at the end of
the 18th century and the beginning of the 19th, as a self made gender, that accompanies the child in
all his manifestations.
Then, the literary species of the children’s folklore are presented: formula songs, bits of
language, lullabies, counting rhymes, nursery rhymes.
In the educational process, the children’s folklore contains interdisciplinary objectives
and learning activities. Through all these we try to develop their capacity of oral expression, vocal
interpretation and the achievement of a composition through practical activities.
