Abstract
In order to strengthen the defence of the province Dacia within the context of its reorganization (168-169), a new legion was transferred here: Legio V Macedonica that was part of „Exercitus Daciae Porolissensis”. This military unit, after returning from the Orient, was moved from its original garrison in Troesmis to a new location – in Dacia Porolissensis, at Potaissa. From the certified information available until now, it seems that during the entire period when it was stationed at Potaissa, Legio V Macedonica generally manifested an attitude of loyalty towards the ruling emperors, that fact being epigraphically demonstrated by the inscriptions (here including the
different types of military stamps) that were discovered in the castrum, in the city of Potaissa, in the province, or even outside Dacia Porolissensis, but these inscriptions were dated in the Dacic period of the Legion (168-274/275).
