Abstract
The short story Dayan was written by Mircea Eliade in the lapse of time between December 1979 and January 1980, in the United States of America. The writer’s exegetes were less concerned with this text, and when they started to be, they were preoccupied with the possibility of establishing similarities with the rest of his work, rather than emphasizing more intrinsic meanings.
