Abstract
The article deals with Victor Vlad Delamarina’s travel memories – the first notes containing a Romanian sailor’s thoughts. After recollecting the way travel memories started out in Romanian literature, the study makes a survey of the mirror obsession: it is involved in Delamarina’s writing, and in facing an anamorphic image reflected on sea water as well. The stratified travel memories ask for a multi-perspective approach: the notes are proved to be not only means of (self)knowledge, a victory against vulnerable memory and an attempt to retrieve cultural ages / spiritus loci, but also a complementary way of communication, which suggests a place of intersected arts.
