Abstract
The exact moment of the separation through individualization of the North-Thracian branch is not entirely clear. This moment is placed between the Bronze Age and the Iron Age. Extended archeological research in the last 50 years testifies the differences between the archaeological findings made in the Northern and Southern areas of the Balkans. The geographical area between the Balkans and the Danube is an area of inter-connection between the two Thracian branches. The kinship between the cultural groups is obvious at the end of the Bronze Age and even more so during the Iron Age. Thus interpreted, it can be stated that it’s during the Bronze and Iron ages that the foundations of the ethnic and cultural differences between the Thracians of both sides of the Danube can be found.
