Abstract
Although the Paleopalinological research was initiated by the prestigious biologist Emil
Pop, titulary member of the Romanian Academy since 195, and this original type of scientific
investigation of the flora from the distant historical times has begun to be a an efficient means of
information in the framework of archaeological excavations, his name is not mentioned in the
specific works and treaties.
This omission must be corrected, and the first step in this regard was done in the framework
of the scientific research session from Bucharest, the 17 th of May 2007 of the Division of Science
History of the Romanian
Academy through the following communication.
