An Analysis of some Semantic and Morphosyntactic Processes within a DiacHronic System of Languages: Examples in French and Italian

Abstract:
The article would like to present the fundamental role played by certain semantic operations in the construction of new morphosyntactic forms. It is based on concrete examples from French and Italian analysed from a diachronic and a synchronic point of view and by comparing elements existing in the two languages. The psychomecanic approach is at the core of this analysis that shows the de-semanticization aspect as the centre of these phenomena.
