Abstract
The affirmation of Arad from the beginning of the twentieth century through important personalities of the political and cultural life made it possible for Arad to become the capital of the Great Union in 1918, the place where important personalities such as Vasile Goldiş, Ioan Suciu, Stefan Cicio-Pop, but also Bishop Ioan I. Papp. They are the intellectuals who have watched carefully the events in the great capitals of the world, finding themselves concerned about the situation of the Romanians. In this context, in the autumn of 1918 Arad and the Arad intellectuals played an important role, being the ones who prepared the Great Union, which was conceived in Arad and materialized in Alba Iulia and Bucharest.
Résumé
L’affirmation d’Arad depuis le début du XXe siècle à travers d’importantes personnalités de la vie politique et culturelle a permis à Arad de devenir la capitale de la Grande Union en 1918, le lieu où d’importantes personnalités telles que Vasile Goldiş, Ioan Suciu, Stefan Cicio-Pop, mais aussi l’évêque Ioan I. Papp. Ce sont des intellectuels qui ont regardé attentivement les événements des grandes capitales du monde, se trouvant préoccupés par la situation des Roumains. Dans ce contexte, à l’automne 1918, Arad et les intellectuels d’Arad ont joué un rôle important, étant ceux qui ont préparé la Grande Union, qui a été conçue à Arad et matérialisée à Alba Iulia et à Bucarest.
Rezumat
Afirmarea Aradului încă de la începutul secolului al XX-lea prin importante personalităţii ale vieţii politice şi culturale a făcut ca pe fondul evenimentelor din 1918 Aradul să se transforme în capitala Marii Uniri, locul unde au activat importante personalităţi, ca Vasile Goldiş, Ioan Suciu, Ştefan Cicio-Pop, dar şi episcopul Ioan I. Papp. Sunt intelectuali care au urmărit cu atenţie evenimentele din marile capitale ale lumii, fiind preocupaţi de situaţia românilor. În acest context, în toamna anului 1918 Aradul şi intelectualii arădeni au avut un rol important, fiind cei care au pregătit Marea Unire, care a fost gândită la Arad şi concretizată la Alba Iulia şi Bucureşti.
