Abstract
Several striking, though quite relative, analogies can be stated between Russian aspectual pairs (or quasi-pairs, given that Russian verbal system often provides « triads » or even some more puzzling configurations) and some Latin verbal system’s features which are partially inherited by Romance languages (such as French) at the lexical level.
