Abstract
”English is learnt in many different environments, ranging from the traditional classroom to the street. […]. Our teaching has also been changed dramatically by the introduction of various technical aids, which can help to bring the outside world into the classroom”. (CHARGE, N. J. and GIBLIN, N., 1987, 282-287). I have tried to prove in this paper that the audio-visual aids continue to play a part of foremost importance in teaching foreign languages, they are also used in translation and interpretation; they are indispensable means to create a unique, unforgettable atmosphere which motivate the students to become successful learners and competent speakers of English. We live in a world where the technology is changing at a very high speed. This also affects the translation and interpretation. The computer can provide new and exciting ways of increasing the learners exposure to meaningful language.
Rezumat
”Engleza este învăţată în multe medii diferite, variind de la tradiţionala sală de clasă la stradă. […]. procedura noastră de predare a fost schimbată dramatic de către introducerea variatelor mijloace tehnice auxiliare, care pot ajuta la ducerea lumii de afară în interiorul sălii de clasă”. (CHARGE, N. J. şi GIBLIN, N. ,1987, 282-287). Eu am încercat să demonstrez în această lucrare faptul că mijloacele audio-vizuale continuă să joace un rol de primă însemnătate în predarea limbilor străine, ele sunt de asemenea folosite în traducere şi interpretare; ele sunt mijloace indispensabile pentru a crea o atmosferă unică, de neuitat care motivează studenţii să devină învăţăcei de succes şi vorbitori competenţi de limbă engleză. Trăim într-o lume în care tehnologia se schimbă la o viteză foarte mare. Acest lucru afectează traducerea şi interpretarea. Computerul poate aduce modalităţi noi şi interesante de sporire a expunerii studenţilor la un limbaj semnificativ.
