Abstract
An encyclopedic spirit, the great patriot Vasile Goldiş (1862-1934), mastermind of the Great Union of December 1, 1918, was also an outstanding scholar through his journalistic works in which he sustained the Romanian culture, in a historical period that was unfavourable to Romanians in Transylvania, as they were under foreign domination until 1918.
This is testified by the numerous articles published by Vasile Goldiş, through which he manifested his concern as to the preservation and cultivation of the Romanian language.
