AbstractThe paper aims at defining the concept of „space”, both at a theoretical and practical level. This is to be accomplished by analyzing the 19th century perspective that the historians offered us. At the same time, we are to ponder on the content of the Romanian modern novel that we have chosen to illustrate the importance of „space” within literature.
